Santhigiri is a registered, voluntary, charitable organization formed to focus on the major policy issues concerning the disabled community. The spirit of inspiration emanated from the public and the CMI Fathers of Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha, Kerala to stand for the cause of the disabled population enabled the foundation of Santhigiri in the year 1988.The CMI Monastery at Vazhithala started officially functioning in 1960. A Home for the disabled children with the name SANTHIGIRI was started in 1988. It was our basic target to educate the disabled children to the highest level possible, so that they can be vocationally rehabilitated even at the higher realms of the society. Accordingly, our educational programmes began in 1993 by the starting of Santhigiri Vocational Training Institute.
  
Santhigiri gives special attention for vocational training aiming to create opportunities for the disabled persons equal to those of the whole population. Santhigiri Vocational Training Institute founded in 1993 is our sincere attempt to achieve this goal. We foster integrated education and Santhigiri offers special concession to disabled students. Santhigiri College of Computer Sciences is also the visual fabrication of our basic objective. Our most important advancement in the educational field evened in 2002 with the starting of Santhigiri College of Computer Sciences. Santhigiri College is affiliated to MG University, Kottayam and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. We started with the three year MCA course. We have now also started two year MSW course. Newly we have been sanctioned BCA and B.Com courses too. Of course, we are on the move, fast and fascinated, to awaken this generation to take up the gauntlet of tomorrow.
