Duration of the course The course shall extend over a period of three academic years consisting of six semesters. Objective and Methodology The main objective of this course is to give the students a sound background in computing, business functions and mathematics relevant to information technology. This course aims to train Graduates in the development and use of software for different applications. The teaching methodology includes classroom lectures, seminars, assignments, audio-visual programs, industry visits, placement training, tie-up with software companies, skill development programs etc. Eligibility Should be a pass in any recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level or should be a pass in any recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/ Statistics as one the subjects or should be a pass in B.C.A. degree of minimum 3 years duration from a recognized University. Attendance and Progress A candidate will be deemed to have completed the course of any semester only if:
- He/she has put in not less than 75% attendance.
- His/her progress and conduct have been satisfactory.
Assessment
- The assessment will comprise of sessional assessment and semester examination in certain subjects, and wholly sessional assessment in others, carrying marks as specified in the subject of study and scheme of assessment.
- All Sessional work shall be valued and marks awarded on the basis of day today performance, periodic tests and assignments.
Passing Requirements A candidate shall be declared to have passed any subject in full in any semester if he/she secures not less than 50% marks in sessional, not less than 40% marks in the theory examination including project and viva, and not less than 50% of the overall aggregate marks for the subject i.e. Examination marks and internal marks of the subjects put together.
